George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater

The Salt Lake City Redevelopment Agency (RDA) retained MOCA Services as its Owner’s Representative for the development master plan and management of the Broadway Performing Arts Center. The project was part of the RDA’s effort to further develop the four-block area along Main Street between First and Third South as the arts district of Salt Lake City. MOCA Services provided guidance in the negotiations of the contract for the developer, architects, CMR, public relations, fundraising, and the venue consultants. In addition, the architect and the developer needed additional consultants. They brought on theater specialists, and MOCA Services assisted in reviewing and providing comments on those contracts as well.

MOCA Services held Vision Workshops with the Mayor’s Office, Council Office, and RDA board members. Once MOCA Services established the guiding principles, the team established a complete set of design guidelines for the developer and architect to use in the design and development of the project. MOCA Services then met with the steering committee monthly to provide updates on the project.

MOCA Services as the Owner’s Representative, worked closely with all parties to deliver this project on time to meet the opening commitment that was scheduled in 2016 for their first Broadway show.
